Unique and well-crafted
You don't see many Austrian gins but this one makes a strong case. The Styrian apple and elderflower combination is distinctive, and the London Dry classification with juniper backbone keeps it grounded.
27 March 2026Theme over substance
While the golf theme and St Andrews connection are charming, the gin at 42% is a fairly standard London Dry. Nothing wrong with it but nothing that sets it apart beyond the branding. A decent gift for golf-loving gin drinkers.
27 March 2026Honest Everyday Gin
JJ Whitley is an honest London Dry that does its job well. The 37.5% keeps it light and approachable, and the juniper backbone is present and correct. No complaints at this price.
27 March 2026Botanical garden in a glass
St George Botanivore lives up to its name — this gin devours botanicals. At 45% the sheer range of herbal, floral, and earthy flavours is extraordinary. A true American craft gin triumph.
27 March 2026Fascinating Evolution
Seeing how mulberry wood cask ageing transforms Monkey 47 is fascinating. At 47% the barrel-aged version is richer and warmer, with vanilla and oak notes complementing the legendary 47 botanicals. An evolution worth experiencing.
27 March 2026Garden in a glass
This Flavoured gin at 47% genuinely captures the essence of an English garden. The botanical work is extraordinary — it smells and tastes like stepping outside on a summer morning. Capreolus are doing something truly special.
27 March 2026Good but Not Outstanding
It's a decent London Dry at 43% with interesting Indian spice notes, but it doesn't quite reach the heights that the beautiful bottle and Rajasthani heritage promise. Pleasant rather than thrilling.
27 March 2026Best Bombay Ever Made
Honestly, this is everything I wanted Bombay Sapphire to be. The Murcian lemon adds sophistication and depth, the juniper is properly present at 47%, and every sip is an absolute joy. This has permanently replaced regular Sapphire in my collection.
27 March 2026Decent vintage, some fading
Seager's from the 1970s at 47% is a solid piece of gin history. The higher ABV has helped preserve the character, but there's noticeable fading of the botanicals compared to what a fresh 47% gin would deliver. Still, the juniper has a dignified quality. A nice vintage but not exceptional.
26 March 2026Cocktail Perfection
Fords at 45% is perhaps the most versatile London Dry on the market. Created in collaboration with bartenders, it's perfectly balanced for every serve — martini, G&T, Negroni, anything. Brilliant.
26 March 2026Neptune would approve
Hendrick's Neptunia at 43.4% is a masterwork. The coastal, maritime character is woven through the Hendrick's template with extraordinary subtlety — mineral freshness, saline whispers, and ocean air. Combined with that signature cucumber and rose, it creates a London Dry of breathtaking beauty. Worth every penny.
26 March 2026Pleasant but Unusual
The linden flowers and rosehip give this an unusual floral profile that I found a bit too sweet for a London Dry at 45%. The coriander and cardamom are lovely, but the overall balance leans too floral for my taste.
26 March 2026My new favourite pink gin
Have been through quite a few pink gins and this one from Germany is genuinely excellent. The Sauerland forest botanicals add real depth. Beautiful colour and flavour at 38%.
26 March 2026The Bowler Hat Classic
Broker's is a proper traditional London Dry. At 40% it is clean, crisp, and juniper-led with lovely citrus brightness. The iconic bowler hat bottle cap always raises a smile. Great value gin.
26 March 2026Powerful vintage Booth's
This 1970s High & Dry at 47.5% is a muscular London Dry with real authority. The higher ABV has preserved the botanicals well, and the juniper remains bold and well-defined after all these years.
26 March 2026Scholarly but slightly dry
Gin Del Professore Monsieur is an intellectually interesting London Dry at 43.7%, but I found it almost too dry on the finish. The botanical balance is precise if a little academic — it's a gin that's easier to admire than to love.
26 March 2026Rose gin at its absolute best
The Secret Garden Apothecary Rose at 39% is the most beautiful rose gin I've tasted. The apothecary rose is vivid, authentic, and perfectly integrated into a gentle London Dry profile. Every sip transports you to a sunlit garden in full bloom. Delicate, elegant, and utterly enchanting. A gin of pure beauty.
26 March 2026The Tea-Steeped Classic
The 24-hour steeping of Japanese sencha and Chinese green tea gives Beefeater 24 a unique depth. The tea tannin structure at 45% ABV is remarkable — firm, dry, and endlessly complex. The distinctive grapefruit note is brilliant.
26 March 2026Mediterranean in a glass
Basil, rosemary, thyme, and olive — it genuinely tastes like a Mediterranean garden. The cardamom adds an unexpected warmth that ties everything together. A beautifully aromatic Contemporary gin.
26 March 2026Great with dark tonic
Try Brockmans with a dark berry tonic water — the combination is stunning. The smooth, berry-rich profile at 40% makes this one of the most accessible premium gins available.
