1950s London Dry Excellence
The 'Finest' label was well-earned. This 1958 bottling at 40% shows a level of craft and refinement that places it above everyday gins of the era. Deep juniper with elegant spice.
15 January 2026Rhubarb tartness nailed
The balance between rhubarb tartness and ginger warmth is spot on. The juniper structure keeps this recognisably gin while the orange peel brightens everything. Great with ginger ale as a mixer.
5 April 2026Well made but anonymous
Tork Gin at 42.8% is a perfectly acceptable London Dry — clean, juniper-forward, well-balanced. But nothing about it grabs my attention in a crowded market. It's the kind of gin you'd be happy with but never seek out specifically.
3 March 2026Good for its age, not perfect
A 1950s Gordon's at 45% is a rare thing. The higher ABV compared to today's 37.5% gives it noticeably more body. But seventy years of bottle ageing have mellowed the botanicals substantially. The juniper is a soft echo. Interesting historically, but not a flawless drinking experience.
2 March 2026Warming winter character
The name suggests something for cold evenings and the gin delivers. At 45% this London Dry has proper warmth and weight. The juniper is bold and the overall profile is comforting. A gin for the darker months.
10 March 2026Citrus and juniper interplay
The interplay between bright citrus and juniper at 47% is well-judged. Bluecoat's London Dry profile is clean and modern, with the American distilling approach bringing its own personality.
5 March 2026Pleasant Dorset character
Conker Spirit's London Dry at 40% captures something of Dorset's character — there's a coastal freshness to it. But the profile is quite gentle and at 40% ABV it feels a touch light. A nice regional gin that could benefit from a bit more oomph.
16 February 2026Bartender's Choice
Fords was designed by bartenders for bartenders, and it shows. At 45% ABV this London Dry has the structure to work in any cocktail while remaining smooth enough to sip neat. A professional's gin.
24 March 2026Guilt-free gin pleasure
Knowing every botanical is ethically sourced makes this 42% London Dry taste even better. The juniper is bold, the finish is clean, and the conscience is clear. Fair Juniper is gin you can feel good about.
21 February 2026Vintage London character
A 1970s Gilbey's at 40% offers insight into mid-century London Dry production. The spirit has aged gracefully, with mellowed botanicals and soft juniper. A gentle, elegant vintage gin.
2 December 2025Yuzu makes it special
The yuzu fruit brings a citrus character you simply cannot get from European botanicals. Combined with bitter orange peel and that intriguing water from the Sea of Japan, this London Dry at 45% has real personality.
2 March 2026Kiwi gin, standard profile
Waiheke from New Zealand at 42% is a clean London Dry, but the Waiheke Island provenance doesn't translate into anything distinctively Kiwi in the flavour. The juniper is solid, the botanicals are balanced — it's a perfectly fine London Dry, just not as exciting as the exotic origin suggests.
1 April 2026Manchester's finest
The Signature Gin lives up to its name — this is Manchester distilling at its best. At 42% the London Dry profile is generous and well-crafted, with proper juniper authority and a clean, dry finish. Outstanding.
16 November 2025Wild meadow magic
The hand-foraged Islay botanicals make this unlike any other gin. Wild meadow herbs, heather honey, apple mint — all backed by juniper, cassia bark, and coriander seed at 46%. The long, warming finish with mint and heather is superb.
30 December 2025Perfect for IPA lovers
If you're a craft beer fan exploring gin, start here. The citra hops give tropical, piney notes alongside the grapefruit peel brightness. A London Dry at 42% that bridges two worlds nicely.
12 January 2026Good but not distinctive
Whitley Neill's Distillers Cut at 41.3% is a competent London Dry — clean, well-made, properly juniper-led. But in the crowded Whitley Neill range, this standard expression struggles to stand out against the more characterful flavoured variants. Perfectly good, just not exciting.
9 April 2026Brilliant British Concept
Only the British would turn a cake into a gin, and Sipsmith have done it beautifully. At 40.4% the lemon is zingy and fresh, with a subtle cake-like sweetness. Absolutely love it.
14 April 2026Full-strength vintage
At 47% this 1970s Seager's has the strength that modern London Drys have lost. The juniper is softened by age but retains authority. The overall profile is mellow and complex in ways only time can create.
28 March 2026My Go-To Flavoured Gin
Edinburgh have nailed the rhubarb and ginger combination here. The ginger gives it a warming kick that works beautifully in autumn cocktails. At 40% it holds its own in a G&T without being overpowering.
23 December 2025Rhubarb Gin Perfection
This small bottle packs a mighty punch. Jim and Tonic's Roobee Rhubarb at 40% ABV is the finest rhubarb gin I've encountered — tart, authentic, and beautifully crafted. Exceptional flavoured gin.
