Quite whisky-like
The barrel-aged warmth and malted grain character push this very close to whisky territory. The orange peel and juniper authority are nice, but at 44% ABV the vanillin oak sweetness dominates. If you want a recognisably gin-like Old Tom, this might be too rich. Interesting, though.
30 November 2025French Old Tom Innovation
An Old Tom gin that could only come from Bordeaux. The 2020 noble rot grapes at 42% ABV add a luscious sweetness that transforms the classic style into something uniquely French.
18 November 2025The Spirit of Raasay
Isle of Raasay Hebridean Gin is a masterpiece of island distilling. At 46% ABV the wild Hebridean botanicals create a flavoured gin of extraordinary character and beauty. The Hebrides in a bottle.
22 March 2026Christmas in a glass
Four Pillars nail the Christmas gin concept. At 43.8% the cinnamon and star anise are warm and festive, while the barrel ageing adds depth. The coriander and angelica keep it grounded as a proper gin.
28 April 2026Old school brilliance
If you want to understand where gin came from, start here. The malt wine richness, the clove spice, the assertive juniper — it's all beautifully balanced. The dry ginger-hop close is lovely.
31 January 2026Berry-forward brilliance
The dark berry character is Brockmans' signature and it works. Smooth, approachable, and genuinely flavoursome at 40%. This Flavoured gin converts people who claim not to like gin.
16 November 2025Seasonal Gin Done Right
A winter-themed gin that actually delivers on its promise. The warming spice notes at 40% ABV make this London Dry ideal for the colder months. Great with warm tonic and a cinnamon stick.
10 December 2025Cornish Citrus Sunshine
Tarquin's have captured Cornish sunshine in this bottle. The ripe blood oranges are vibrant and natural, while the bitter gentian and aromatic herbs add complexity. Lovely at 38%.
16 February 2026Novelty Wears Off
The lemon drizzle concept at 40.4% ABV is clever and the first few G&Ts are delightful, but the novelty wears thin. It's a bit too sweet and one-note for regular drinking.
3 March 2026The best savoury gin made
This is genius in a bottle. The arbequina olive, fresh basil, rosemary, and cardamom create something that transcends typical gin. At 42.7% every element shines. That warm cardamom-citrus close stays with you long after the last sip. Absolutely outstanding.
10 December 2025Striking blood orange
The blood orange character is striking — rich, tart, and genuinely citrusy. The secret mix of botanicals adds intrigue, and at 40.6% there's enough ABV to give it weight. An appealing Flavoured gin.
23 December 2025Thin at 37.5%
Greenall's at 37.5% suffers from the same problem as other reduced-strength London Drys — it's too thin. The juniper is present but lacks authority, and the botanicals feel diluted. Decent enough as a mixer when nothing else is available, but there's not much to get excited about.
6 April 2026Decent but a bit flat
A perfectly serviceable London Dry from the 1980s, but nothing that really excites. At 40% it feels a touch thin compared to modern craft offerings. More of a historical curiosity than a daily drinker for me.
8 January 2026Dutch gin heritage
Bols Silver Top from the 1970s at 40% represents a golden era of Dutch London Dry. The botanical character has softened gracefully and the spirit retains a dignified quality. A lovely piece of gin history.
19 November 2025Bold and characterful
That green earthiness on the nose from the gunpowder tea is immediately captivating. The palate delivers with tea tannins meeting citrus brightness and cardamom warmth. A Contemporary gin with real personality.
31 January 202670s London Dry Quality
Curtis delivered a proper London Dry in the 1970s. At 43% it's well-structured with good juniper intensity and a clean, dry profile. An interesting vintage find.
1 January 2026Ocean-inspired elegance
Neptunia captures something oceanic at 43.4%. The London Dry profile has Hendrick's characteristic smoothness but with an added mineral, coastal dimension. Limited edition that earns its premium.
22 December 2025Vintage Surprise
I didn't know what to expect from a 1970s Curtis but it's genuinely good. The 43% ABV London Dry is clean and juniper-forward with nice complexity. Better than many well-known brands of the era.
27 January 2026Classic Done Well
Thomas Dakin delivers a textbook London Dry that doesn't try to reinvent the wheel. Solid juniper backbone, crisp citrus, and a clean finish. Exactly what you want at this price point.
24 April 2026Coastal Canadian Character
Sheringham Seaside really does capture the ocean. There's a briny, kelp-like quality at 43% ABV that gives this London Dry a unique maritime edge. Refreshing and distinctive.
