Tasting Notes

Nose

Crisp and fresh — piney eucalyptus with bright citrus top notes, resinous pine, coriander, lemon and lime zest, wonderfully fragrant and vibrant

Palate

Dry and piney with generous juniper and hefty coriander — woody spice and zesty citrus, earthy orris root and parma violet in the background, big-flavoured and robust yet with delicate floral notes

Finish

Long and warming — parma violet, pine, dry juniper and lavender, resinous pine and black pepper spice lingering through the foraged botanical complexity

Expert Review

8/10

Eleven botanicals including silver birch, dandelion and burdock foraged from Burleigh Wood in Charnwood Forest, Leicestershire. Jamie Baxter — the man who made Chase Vodka world-beating — distils on Messy Bessy, a 450-litre Holstein copper pot still at Bawdon Lodge Farm. Crisp piney eucalyptus on the nose, dry and robust with generous juniper and hefty coriander on the palate, long warming finish with parma violet and pine.
