This is Tanqueray as it was meant to be. The 1970s bottling at 43% delivers a depth and richness that is simply breathtaking. Bold juniper, elegant spice, and a long, complex finish. This is London Dry gin at its absolute zenith.

Wei Zhang — Interesting but Overhyped

A nice piece of gin history and the 43% ABV carries well, but I think nostalgia plays a big role in the praise this gets. It is a good London Dry, certainly, but not dramatically superior to quality modern options.

Adaobi Eze — Superior to Modern Bottling

Having tried this alongside the current Tanqueray, the difference is stark. This 1970s bottling has so much more character — richer botanicals, a fuller body at 43%, and a complexity that is sorely missed today.
