7.9/10A 1970s own-label London Dry from The Wine Society — juniper-driven, unsweetened, and very much a product of its era. At £99.95, it sits squarely in collector territory, earning 7.9/10 for provenance and period character.

View All (7)The unsweetened designation tells you everything about the era. This is gin stripped back to its essentials — juniper, dry spice, and clean spirit. A 1970s classic.
19 March 2026As a historical curiosity it's fascinating, but I found some of the botanical vibrancy had faded after all these decades. The juniper core remains but the supporting cast has diminished somewhat.
16 March 2026A fascinating glimpse into 1970s gin-making. The unsweetened style is bone-dry and juniper-forward, just as a London Dry should be. Remarkable that it holds up this well at 40%.
