Too herbal for my liking
The native river mint and lemon myrtle are quite assertive here. I can appreciate the craftsmanship at 42%, but the dorrigo pepper combined with all those native botanicals makes it a bit too unusual for my palate. Not one I'd reach for regularly.

Uniquely Australian flavours
Blood lime tartness on the nose is immediately distinctive. The dorrigo pepper spice gives it real character, and the lemon myrtle brightness cuts through beautifully. A proper showcase of Australian native botanicals.

Layers upon layers
Vibrant and layered is the perfect way to describe this. The lemon myrtle brightness hits first, then the river mint coolness, then the dorrigo pepper warmth. Beautifully constructed from start to finish.

One of the best Aussie gins
Archie Rose have done something really special here. The sunset apple sweetness on the nose gives way to that incredible palate of native botanicals. The mint close is clean and refreshing. Highly recommended.

Refreshing and distinctive
That clean mint close on the finish is lovely. The blood lime citrus works wonderfully with the dorrigo pepper. A Contemporary gin that genuinely tastes like nowhere else on earth.

The combination of blood lime, native river mint, and lemon myrtle is inspired. At 42% it's vibrant and layered on the palate. The long finish with lemon myrtle persistence and peppery warmth is superb.
