First Impressions
Batch Industrial Strength is the big brother of the Signature Gin — fourteen botanicals including frankincense and myrrh at 55% ABV. It won Double Gold and World's Best Gin at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, plus 94 points at the Ultimate Spirits Challenge. From a small craft distillery in Burnley, Lancashire.
Tasting
The nose shows very little alcohol despite 55% — plenty of juniper with delicate fragranced citrus. On the palate, big bold juniper with lemon, sweet citrus and spice backbone, lemon balm adding sweeter notes, bone dry with frankincense depth. The finish is peppery with lingering citrus.
The Bottom Line
Batch Industrial Strength earns a 9 for a World's Best Gin from Burnley, Lancashire — proof that you don't need a London postcode or a heritage brand to make world-beating gin. The frankincense and myrrh at 55% create something genuinely special. An absolute bartender's weapon.
