First Impressions
Batch moved into their Burnley distillery in 2016, creating a new experimental gin every month. The Signature Gin was so adored it became permanent. Frankincense, myrrh, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg join classic gin botanicals — their Industrial Strength version won World's Best Gin at San Francisco with Double Gold.
Tasting
The nose delivers lovely warm spice with orange, cardamom and cinnamon, plus crisp fresh coriander citrus. On the palate, coriander and cardamom come through quickly with pleasant aromatic lemongrass and peppery allspice warmth, frankincense adding depth. The finish is warming with exotic frankincense-myrrh richness.
The Bottom Line
Batch Signature earns a 7 for a gin with genuine character from unusual botanicals. The frankincense and myrrh add a festive, exotic quality that works year-round. At around £38, Lancashire craft gin with ambition and awards to match.
