Soft and fruity — sweet rowan berry lingering with clean citrus and floral notes, the 98/100 score thoroughly justified

First Impressions

Ben Lomond Classic is the flagship gin from Loch Lomond Distillery — eleven carefully selected botanicals including hand-picked blackcurrants and locally foraged rowan berries. Double Gold at San Francisco 2024 with a remarkable 98/100 score, and Gold at the London Spirits Competition.

The Bottom Line

Ben Lomond Classic earns an 8 for 98/100 at San Francisco — near-perfect for a gin at this price. The rowan berries and Szechuan pepper give it distinctly Scottish character, and the smoothness is remarkable. At around £30, one of the best value gins available anywhere. Serve with blackberries and lime.
