First Impressions
Bèrto Gin comes from Distilleria Quaglia in Piedmont — four generations since 1890, masters of grappa and vermouth turning their artisan methods to gin. Just five botanicals: juniper, rosemary, bay laurel, fresh iris petals and lemons. Pot-still distilled at 43%.
Tasting
The nose is deep piney spruce with citrus, bay leaf and floral hints. On the palate, classic juniper-citrus with rosemary-bay warmth — bitter wormwood-anise meeting sweet vanilla, smooth yet spice-kicked. The finish is bitter-sweet with 134 years of expertise.
The Bottom Line
Bèrto earns an 8 for four generations of Piedmontese mastery applied to five botanicals. The grappa and vermouth heritage shows in the confidence of the distillation — simple ingredients handled with extraordinary expertise. An elite sipping gin where every sip reveals another layer of 134 years' knowledge.
