Sweet but Slightly One-Note

The Old Tom sweetness at 41% is pleasant but I found the overall profile a bit simple. The sugar note dominates and the botanical complexity takes a back seat. Good but not exciting.

Historic Style, Modern Quality

Old Tom gin is having a revival and Boatyard's version at 41% ABV is a worthy ambassador for the style. Gently sweet, properly botanical, and thoroughly enjoyable.

Sweet and Sophisticated

The Old Tom sweetness at 41% ABV is judicious rather than heavy-handed. Boatyard have found the sweet spot — enough sugar to define the style without masking the botanicals. Well crafted.
