Cero2 Pure Gin is a London Dry gin bottled at a confident 40%. It positions itself squarely within the London Dry tradition, and on first acquaintance, it appears to know precisely what it is.
A sustainably produced gin from the Dominican Republic, Cero2 Pure is made from sugar cane and has notes of juniper and citrus. The whole production process is sustainable, including being transported by sailing ships (no fossil-fuel-burning engines are used) and the bottles being made from 96% recycled glass.
The Verdict
At 7.3/10, this is a serviceable London Dry that fulfils its remit without particular distinction. It will mix well, though it is unlikely to be the bottle you reach for when the moment calls for something memorable.
Best Served
A classic G&T — Fever-Tree Indian Tonic, 1:2 ratio, with a twist of lemon peel and nothing more. This is a gin that respects the traditional serve, and the serve should respect it in return.
