First Impressions
Gin Eva Mallorca Dry Gin is the flagship of Mallorca's first gin distillery — opened in 2011 by oenology graduates Stefan Winterling and Eva Maier Gómez. The terroir concept borrowed from wine drives everything: Sóller citrus, Tramontana herbs, and Mallorcan juniper create a gin that tastes of the island.
Tasting
The nose is plump juniper with zesty coriander and gentle green salinity. On the palate, Mallorcan citrus upfront with a summery zip, followed by dry juniper and pine. The finish is dry with Mediterranean warmth.
The Bottom Line
Gin Eva Mallorca Dry earns a 7 for the original Mallorcan gin with genuine wine-country terroir. The winemaking background shows in the attention to provenance, and the distillery's range (olive, bergamot, citrus) all share this terroir-driven philosophy. Best in a clean G&T that lets the island speak.
