First Impressions
Hendrick's Midsummer Solstice was the first in Hendrick's Cabinet of Curiosities limited edition series — developed by Master Distiller Lesley Gracie and infused post-distillation with natural floral essences. It captures the longest day of the year in floral form.
Tasting
The nose presents a complex bouquet — rose, lilac, lavender, and white flowers with orange blossom and lemon zest. On the palate, lavender, strawberry, and rose hips arrive early, with candied citrus, sandalwood spice, and honeysuckle-elderflower mellowness. The finish is gentle spice and mild pine — fresh and floral.
The Bottom Line
Hendrick's Midsummer Solstice earns an 8 for capturing the longest day of the year in a gin of luminous floral beauty. The post-distillation floral essences create genuine complexity. At around £35, Hendrick's at their most romantically botanical. Summer in a glass.
