First Impressions
King's Hill Gin is distilled near Edinburgh from twelve botanicals — gorse flower, heather, wild rosehip and elderflower are hand-foraged from the Pentland Hills, then vapour infused in copper still Marion during distillation. Traditional and Scottish-foraged botanicals in harmony.
Tasting
The nose is bright and fresh with juniper and citrus crispness. On the palate, juniper-led with distinct citrus, spicier than expected with soft almost thick mouthfeel and Pentland Hills floral warmth. The finish is smooth and crisp.
The Bottom Line
King's Hill earns a 7 for Edinburgh's Pentland Hills in a glass. The hand-foraged gorse, heather and rosehip give genuine Scottish provenance, and the soft mouthfeel from copper still Marion is distinctive. Best with Mediterranean tonic and grapefruit.
