First Impressions
NB stands for North Berwick — the east coast Scottish town where Steve and Vivienne Muir created this gin in their home kitchen in 2013. Eight classic botanicals plus distillery-grown rosemary, distilled in small 100-litre batches. It won Best London Dry Gin in the World at the 2015 World Drinks Awards.
Tasting
The nose reveals an initial juniper hit with earthiness, subtle citrus with fabulous freshness, rosemary and basil aromatics. On the palate, clean and fresh with wonderfully smooth texture — juniper-led and dry, botanicals revealed with remarkable clarity and warm earthy notes with white pepper. The finish is warming with juniper persistence.
The Bottom Line
NB London Dry earns an 8 for a gin born in a kitchen that went on to win World's Best. The botanical clarity is its defining feature — each ingredient is distinct yet harmonised. The distillery-grown rosemary adds genuine North Berwick provenance. At around £32, a world champion at an accessible price.
