Good But Sweet

It's a well-made sloe gin with genuine berry character, but the sweetness at 29% ABV is a bit much for me. The juniper from the base gin tries to provide structure but the fruit dominates. I'd prefer it drier.

Proper Sloe Character

Sipsmith use genuine hand-picked sloe berries and you can taste the difference. The tart tannin counterpoint balances the sweetness perfectly. The almond-marzipan sophistication on the finish is the mark of quality at 29% ABV.

Multi-Layered Berry

The berry complexity here is remarkable — damson, blackberry, and plum all distinguishable. The mid-palate juniper structure prevents it from becoming a mere fruit liqueur. Well-judged sweetness at 29%.

Sloe Gin Perfection

Sipsmith have created the ultimate sloe gin. Multi-layered berry complexity, perfect sweetness balance, mid-palate juniper structure, and that sophisticated almond-marzipan finish. At 29% ABV it's properly spiritous. The dry herbal juniper conclusion is flawless.

Sloe Gin Benchmark

Sipsmith's sloe gin is the standard by which all others are measured. Ripe berry fruit — damson, blackberry, plum — with a herbal juniper anchor. The almond note from the stones is gorgeous. At 29% ABV it's properly spiritous.

Winter Warming Favourite

When November arrives, Sipsmith Sloe is what I reach for. Rich berry fruit, gentle juniper anchor, and a sweetness that's warming without being cloying. The citrus peel adds a welcome brightness at 29%.

Excellent Quality

The Sipsmith base gin shines through — you can taste the juniper, coriander, and angelica root beneath the sloe berry fruit. The medium-long finish becomes beautifully tart as the sweetness fades. A real step above supermarket sloe gins.
