First Impressions
Trevethan Chauffeur's Reserve takes the same ten botanicals as the Original and increases them by 30%, then bottles at navy strength 57%. The same 1920s family recipe, amplified. Gold at San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2024.
Tasting
The nose is surprisingly delicate and complex with sweet orange and dry dusty cinnamon. On the palate, bold earthy juniper mellowing to softer pine with cassia spice and vanilla — dryness with sweetness from vanilla and gorse, smooth despite 57%. The finish is long, crisp and dry.
The Bottom Line
Trevethan Chauffeur's Reserve earns an 8 for a navy strength with the same beautifully smooth texture as the Original. The 30% botanical increase creates genuine depth, and the elderflower and gorse are better exposed with water or tonic. Forbes Top 20 and San Francisco Gold — Cornish navy strength at its finest.
