First Impressions
Trevethan Honey Oak uses a fallen oak tree from the Cornish countryside — hand-toasted, soaked in Cornish honey for two weeks, then dropped into the 1920s Original Gin for 12 weeks. The result is a cult favourite with the smoothness of oak and the sweetness of honey.
Tasting
The nose shows honey and oak with juniper and vanilla. On the palate, immediate honey-oak sweetness with earthy juniper, citrus and herbal kick. The finish is warming and honeyed.
The Bottom Line
Trevethan Honey Oak earns a 7 for genuine Cornish provenance — fallen local oak and local honey creating a unique aged gin. The 12-week contact period adds warmth without overwhelming the 1920s recipe, and the honey-oak combination is inspired. A warming winter favourite.
