Tasting Notes

Nose

Very aromatic with yuzu, citrus and spices — floral, citrusy and clean

Palate

Wonderful bitterness and spice with citrus — green bitter orange and yuzu, hints of tea, liquorice and vegetal botanicals, sansho pepper providing distinctive Japanese warmth

Finish

Sansho pepper ending complemented by fruity yuzu tones — clean and lingering with Japanese precision

Expert Review

8/10

From Hokkaido's Asahikawa distillery — yuzu, sansho pepper, green tea and cherry blossom on a cane spirit base. One of the better Japanese entries to the modern gin market. Juniper present but not dominant.
