Tasting Notes

Nose

Nuts, olive oil and fresh hay — delicately spiced sandalwood with brioche and faint pear skin, the double juniper evident but refined

Palate

Dry and fairly spicy with slightly tannic woody notes — cinnamon and clove spice, nutty oak with faint white grape and apple juice fruitiness, the malt wine creating distinctive body

Finish

Dry clove-spiced oak with peppery olive oil — the 1-3 year ageing adding light gold tones and tender voluptuousness

Expert Review

8/10

Amsterdam's last authentic distillery since 1782 — 'Dubbel Gebeide' with double juniper, high malt wine proportion, aged 1-3 years in oak. Presented in traditional clay bottle. Nuts, olive oil, fresh hay with sandalwood and brioche. Living Dutch spirits history.
