First Impressions
Aggie's Shack is a small-batch limited release from Batch Distillery — inspired by Glenn's many journeys to Goa in the 1990s and 2000s. He selected three botanicals that capture the spirit of Goan beach shacks: exotic fruits, warming spices, and tropical character. This is a gin born from travel memories and the desire to bottle them.
Tasting
Three Goa-inspired botanicals alongside juniper. The nose is full-bodied with tropical fruit sweetness and Goan spice warmth. On the palate at 40%, an explosion of flavours: fruity sweetness with spices coming through obviously but balanced by delicious tropical character. The finish is long-lasting — sweet and spicy in balance, warming and moreish.
The Bottom Line
Batch Aggie's Shack earns a 7 — a gin that captures the spirit of 1990s Goa in a bottle. The exotic fruit and spice combination is fresh and surprising, and the limited-release format adds collectability. Best with tonic or coconut water and a good squeeze of lime as the distillery suggests. At £35, a small-batch tropical escape from a North West distillery with a Goan soul.
