The Tea-Steeped Classic

The 24-hour steeping of Japanese sencha and Chinese green tea gives Beefeater 24 a unique depth. The tea tannin structure at 45% ABV is remarkable — firm, dry, and endlessly complex. The distinctive grapefruit note is brilliant.

Tannin and Juniper

The tea tannin persistence on the finish sets Beefeater 24 apart. It creates a dry astringency that complements the firm juniper backbone beautifully. At 45% ABV the extended steeping has produced a gin of real depth.

Grapefruit and Tea

The distinctive grapefruit-tea combination is what makes 24 special. The bitter-citrus grapefruit plays off the dry tea tannins beautifully, and the firm juniper backbone at 45% holds everything together. Really well made.

Deep and Layered

Beefeater 24 rewards attention. The layers of flavour from the extended steeping reveal themselves slowly — tea, juniper, citrus, spice. At 45% ABV the orris root adds subtle florals. A gin for contemplation.

The 24-Hour Difference

You can genuinely taste the difference that extended steeping makes. The botanicals are deeper, more layered, more integrated than standard Beefeater. The grapefruit flourish on the finish at 45% is a signature moment.

Interesting But Dry

The tea tannins give this an unusual dryness that won't suit everyone. At 45% ABV the astringency can be almost too assertive. The grapefruit and juniper are lovely but the overall profile is quite austere for casual drinking.

Beefeater's Crowning Glory

Beefeater 24 is the finest expression of the Beefeater house style. The 24-hour steeping creates extraordinary depth, the tea tannin structure is unique, and at 45% ABV the long finish — tea, juniper, bitter-citrus grapefruit — is unforgettable. A modern London Dry icon.
