First Impressions
Bombay Citron Pressé is inspired by the Tom Collins cocktail, infusing early-season Mediterranean lemons — pressed for juice and separately infused in neutral spirit for zest — into the Sapphire botanical base. At 37.5%, it sits at the legal minimum for gin, and no sugar is added.
Tasting
The nose is bright lemon first and foremost, with juniper following behind and herbal notes largely washed out by the citrus. The palate is lemon-dominant too, though juniper does eventually shine through. Gentle sweetness softens things despite the no-added-sugar claim. The finish is clean, refreshing, and slightly tangy.
The Bottom Line
Citron Pressé earns a 6 — it delivers exactly what it promises as a ready-to-mix lemon gin for long drinks and spritzes. The no-added-sugar commitment is commendable, but at 37.5% the gin character struggles against the lemon infusion. If Premier Cru Murcian Lemon is gin with lemon, this is closer to lemon with gin. Perfectly pleasant in a Tom Collins, less convincing neat.
