First Impressions
Copeland Rhuberry uses only the highest quality rhubarb and blackberries from local County Down farms — soaked 16-24 hours in alcohol then copper pot distilled. From the same distillery that scored 99/100 at IWSC for their Irish Gin.
Tasting
The nose shows juicy red berries with spicy juniper. On the palate, forward blackberry and rhubarb with juniper, cinnamon and coriander — enjoyably tart rather than sweet. The finish is full with lasting juniper and more fruit.
The Bottom Line
Copeland Rhuberry earns a 7 for an Irish fruit gin that embraces tartness over sweetness. The IWSC-awarded distillery ensures quality, and the local County Down fruit adds genuine provenance. For those who like their fruit gins tart and honest.
