Forged Passion Fruit Gin continues the Wakefield distillery's approach of adapting their spice-forward base gin for fruit expressions. Passion fruit and mango provide the tropical character, and the gin is organically certified, vegan-friendly, with no added sugar or artificial flavours.
Tasting
The nose carries tropical passion fruit and mango. On the palate, sweet and tangy passion fruit bursts open alongside a peppery, herbaceous background, with zingy citrus notes from the passionfruit pairing with the adapted core recipe. The finish is rich and smooth. At 37.5%, the fruit dominates.
The Bottom Line
Forged Passion Fruit earns a 6.5 for delivering organic tropical character without added sugar. The passion fruit-mango combination is vivid, and the no-sugar approach adds integrity. At around £36, a luxurious after-dinner tropical serve.
