Plymouth Gin Original — The Singular Expression of an Ancient Distillery
Plymouth 41.2% ABV ABV Black Friars DistillerySmooth classic from Black Friars
There's a reason Plymouth has been made at Black Friars Distillery for centuries. The 41.2% ABV creates that famously silky texture, and the soft juniper with orange and lemon peel citrus is beautifully balanced. The cardamom warmth on the finish is gorgeous.
A national treasure
Plymouth Gin Original is perfection. From the earthy juniper warmth through the silky, full-bodied palate to that gorgeous cardamom-tinged finish, every element at 41.2% is flawless. Black Friars Distillery has been making this for hundreds of years and it shows. Simply the best.
Black Friars brilliance
The oldest working gin distillery in England produces something truly special. That silky mouthfeel at 41.2%, the gentle juniper warmth, the coriander and citrus peel brightness — it all comes together in a way that feels effortless. The medium-long finish with lingering cardamom is divine.
Good but overhyped
Plymouth is smooth and well-made at 41.2%, with the earthy juniper warmth and silky mouthfeel it's known for. However, I find the coriander seed and angelica root make it slightly too soft — I prefer my gin with more bite. The cardamom on the finish is pleasant enough.
Perfect Martini gin
Plymouth's soft, full-bodied character at 41.2% makes it the ideal Martini base. The juniper is present but never aggressive, and the orange and lemon peel add just the right amount of citrus. That silky texture is unmatched.
The original Plymouth style
Nothing else tastes quite like Plymouth. That round, earthy juniper warmth at 41.2% is unmistakeable, and the full-bodied, silky mouthfeel is extraordinary. The coriander seed and angelica root add depth while the citrus peels keep things bright. Timeless.
Quintessential English gin
Plymouth Original delivers everything you'd expect from the last remaining Plymouth-style gin. At 41.2% ABV it's softer and rounder than any London Dry, with that signature earthy juniper and lovely cardamom warmth on the finish.
