First Impressions
Silent Pool Rose Expression takes the original's twenty-four-botanical DNA and rebalances it around a rose tea infusion. Some botanicals — pear, bergamot, cubeb, cardamom — are increased while lemon becomes the leading citrus. The result is a refined, floral gin that showcases rose without becoming a perfume counter.
Tasting
The nose delivers clear floral sweetness with peppery juniper and bright lemon — the rose tea infusion evident but not overpowering. On the palate, light, elegant and smooth with vetiver and cardamom mingling beautifully. Delicate rose notes build in the back with fruity pear and citrus. The finish lingers with citrus and spice, the rose fading gracefully.
The Bottom Line
Silent Pool Rose Expression earns a 7 for a refined floral gin that avoids the trap of being merely rose-flavoured spirit. The rebalanced botanical bill ensures the rose tea enhances rather than dominates, and the increased pear and cardamom provide excellent counterpoint. Best with elderflower tonic and a fresh pear garnish.
