First Impressions
Solway Sticky Toffee Gin takes inspiration from one of Britain's most beloved desserts and infuses dates and caramel into their classic London Dry base. It is unashamedly dessert-inspired and designed for after-dinner drinking.
Tasting
The nose is deep and lusciously rich with sticky toffee pudding notes. On the palate, smooth gin packed with mouthwatering sticky toffee sweetness, alongside classic earthy, spicy, juniper-forward gin character. The finish is surprisingly long and warming. An excellent base for Espresso Martini or sparkling apple juice punch.
The Bottom Line
Solway Sticky Toffee earns a 6.5 for successfully translating Britain's favourite dessert into gin form. The dates and caramel provide authentic sticky toffee character, and the London Dry base prevents it becoming a simple liqueur. At around £34, a Scottish dessert gin for those who like their gin sweet.
