Whitley Neill Rhubarb and Ginger Gin
Flavoured 41.3% ABVReliably Delicious
Whitley Neill's rhubarb and ginger is consistent and dependable. The flavours are well-judged — tart rhubarb, warm ginger, and proper juniper underneath. At 41.3% it's a great all-rounder.
The One That Started It
This was the gin that launched a thousand rhubarb gins, and it's still one of the best. The ginger adds a fiery warmth that stops the rhubarb from being too sweet. Well-balanced at 41.3%.
Classic Flavour Pairing
Rhubarb and ginger is a tried-and-tested combination and Whitley Neill execute it well. The rhubarb tartness is balanced by warm ginger spice. At 41.3% there's decent gin backbone behind the fruit.
The Original and Best
Whitley Neill's rhubarb and ginger remains the benchmark. The tart rhubarb, fiery ginger, and proper gin backbone at 41.3% ABV — it's perfectly calibrated. Every other rhubarb gin is measured against this, and none have surpassed it.
Great Gateway Gin
This was my introduction to flavoured gin and it's still a favourite. The rhubarb-ginger combo is crowd-pleasing and the quality at 41.3% is reliable. Brilliant with ginger ale instead of tonic.
Ubiquitous for a Reason
It's everywhere because it's approachable and easy to like, but the rhubarb can be a bit sweet and the ginger a bit timid. At 41.3% ABV the gin character is there but doesn't assert itself enough against the flavouring.
Ginger Is the Secret
What elevates this above other rhubarb gins is the ginger. It adds warmth and spice that prevents the rhubarb from being one-note. At 41.3% ABV the gin backbone holds firm. A modern classic.
