Tasting Notes

Nose

Light and clean — fresh young juniper accompanied by lemon sorbet, a rosé wine colour hinting at the sumac's character

Palate

Surprisingly refreshing and full-bodied — juniper met by sharp citrus-like elements from the sumac, exceptionally dry with pleasant floral and tangy citrus character, the three botanicals in perfect minimal harmony

Finish

Almost liquorice-like — clean and dry, the sumac's lemony tartness persisting, refreshing

Expert Review

8/10

A transatlantic botanical collaboration — the Scottish Crossbill bird has a cousin in New Hampshire, inspiring this gin. Fresh staghorn sumac foraged in New Hampshire (used by Native Americans to make pink lemonade) infused with fresh Scottish juniper and rosehip. Turns pink in tonic.
