Nose
Juniper of extraordinary intensity — dense, oily, almost medicinal in its concentration. This is juniper as a statement of intent, supported by Seville orange and lemon peel that cut through with a sharp, bright acidity. Cassia bark and cinnamon add a brooding, woody warmth. Beneath the juniper onslaught, liquorice root and orris contribute a sweet, powdery depth. The alcohol is perceptible but controlled, adding lift rather than burn.
Palate
Monumental. The doubled juniper charge makes its presence felt immediately — a rolling, resinous wave that coats every surface of the palate. Yet for all its intensity, there is genuine complexity here. Coriander seed warmth and the warm spices of cassia and cinnamon provide counterbalance, while Seville orange bitterness and lemon acidity prevent the juniper from becoming monotone. Ground almond contributes a subtle creaminess to the texture. The 57.7% ABV provides extraordinary body and viscosity.
Finish
Very long. The juniper seems to have no intention of departing, persisting through layers of warm spice, citrus peel, and a dry, earthy angelica root note. There is a faint, pleasant bitterness at the very end — orris and orange peel combining — and a warmth that settles in the chest with quiet authority.

View All (7)If you think most gins don't have enough juniper, V.J.O.P. at 57.7% is your answer. The doubled juniper charge creates something dense, oily, and resinous. The liquorice root and orris root add creamy depth beneath the juniper avalanche.
4 March 2026V.J.O.P. stands for Very Junipery Over Proof, and they're not joking. At 57.7% with double the juniper charge, this is almost overwhelmingly piney and resinous. The coriander seed and angelica root can barely be heard over the juniper avalanche. If you want juniper, this delivers — perhaps too much.
20 February 2026V.J.O.P. at 57.7% is Sipsmith at maximum power. The juniper is dense and oily, almost medicinal in concentration. With water, the cinnamon and warm spice emerge beautifully. A Navy Strength that demands respect.
