Tanqueray Launches Single Estate Collection with Four Terroir-Driven Gins

Tanqueray has announced the launch of its Single Estate Collection — four limited-edition gins, each built around a signature botanical sourced from a single farm or estate. The collection, which represents a significant departure from Tanqueray's traditional approach of consistent, globally sourced botanicals, is being positioned as the brand's most ambitious innovation since Tanqueray No. Ten launched in 2000.

The Collection

Each expression in the collection uses Tanqueray's core botanical base — juniper, coriander, angelica, and liquorice — supplemented by a hero botanical from a named, traceable source:

Tanqueray Single Estate: Seville Orange uses bitter oranges from the Finca La Dehesa estate in Andalusia, Spain. The oranges are hand-picked in January during the brief harvest window and shipped directly to Tanqueray's Cameronbridge distillery in Scotland. The resulting gin has an intense, marmalade-like citrus character that distinguishes it clearly from the standard expression.

Tanqueray Single Estate: Tuscan Basil features fresh basil from the Ferroni estate near Lucca in Tuscany. The basil is vacuum-packed immediately after harvest to preserve its volatile oils, then vapour-infused during distillation. The gin has a distinctive herbal, almost peppery quality that the brand describes as "Mediterranean in a glass."

Tanqueray Single Estate: Kashmiri Saffron uses saffron from a cooperative of farmers in Pampore, Kashmir — one of the world's most prized saffron-producing regions. The saffron adds a warm, honeyed, slightly metallic quality to the gin, along with a pale golden tint.

Tanqueray Single Estate: Tasmanian Pepper features native pepperberry from a wild harvest programme in Tasmania's central highlands. The pepperberry adds a unique spice note — warming initially, then producing a distinctive numbing sensation — that is unlike any other botanical in the London Dry canon.

Pricing and Availability

Each expression is priced at £38 (approximately $48 USD) for a 700ml bottle, positioning them in the super-premium segment. Initial availability is limited to the UK, Australia, Spain, and the United States, with quantities described as "limited but significant." Tanqueray has not disclosed production volumes but has confirmed that the collection will be produced annually, with the possibility of rotating expressions based on botanical availability and consumer response.

Industry Significance

The Single Estate Collection represents a significant moment for the gin industry. While craft distilleries have long emphasised provenance and traceability, major London Dry brands have traditionally prioritised consistency — buying botanicals from multiple sources to ensure the same flavour profile year after year. Tanqueray's decision to embrace variability — the Seville oranges will taste different each year, depending on the harvest — signals a shift in how large brands think about terroir and authenticity.

"This is Tanqueray acknowledging that the craft movement has changed consumer expectations," said drinks industry analyst Laura Rodriguez. "Consumers now expect stories, traceability, and distinctiveness, even from global brands. The Single Estate Collection is Tanqueray's answer to that demand."

The collection launches in June 2026, with all four expressions available simultaneously. Each bottle includes a QR code linking to information about the specific estate, the harvest conditions, and the botanical's journey from farm to still.
